Nothing Phone (2) To Come With Snapdragon 8+ Gen1, Confirms Carl Pei

Nothing Phone (1) was successfully launched last year in the market, now the brand is working to bring the Nothing Phone (2) very soon. The upcoming smartphone from Nothing is going to be a premium segment smartphone, as we are aware that the previously launched Nothing Phone (1) was a mid-range offering.

Nothing previously confirmed that their upcoming smartphone will be coming with a Snapdragon 8-series chipset. Now, Carl Pei officially confirmed that the Nothing Phone (2) will having Qualcomm Snapdragon 8+ Gen1 SoC under the hood.

Nothing Phone (1) was launched with a Snapdragon 778G+, having the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8+ Gen1 is a big upgrade in the Nothing Phone (2) from its predecessor. Tests also confirmed that the application opening speed is double the speed than in the Phone (1). Carl Pei also mentions that there will be close to 80% improved performance, and the Snapdragon 8+ Gen1 will definitely provide better camera capability, better network connectivity and better battery life.

To further add, Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 comes with an 8-bit Image Signal Processor (ISP) which is capable enough to capture 4000 times more camera data than the Phone (1).  Which also means that the Nothing Phone (2) will be capable enough to do 4K recording at 60 fps and RAW HDR captures.

Nothing Phone (2) is expected to feature a 6.55-inch FHD+ AMOLED display  with in-display fingerprint sensor support and a refresh rate of 120Hz. It will also be having a 50MP primary camera and will be available in 8GB RAM + 128GB storage, 8GB RAM + 256GB storage, and 12GB RAM + 256GB storage options.

Few reports also suggest that the Nothing Phone (2) will be priced between Rs. 40,000 to Rs.45,000, this price is not going to be major hike on the previously launched Nothing Phone (1) which is available for a starting price of Rs 32,999.

We should receive more official news and teasers from the brand in the comping days regarding the Nothing Phone (2).
