Ather 450S entry-level electric scooter is revealed by Ather in India, this come with an approximate range of 100km and the bookings will begin starting July, delivery dates are yet to be confirmed by the brand. This latest scooter can be a direct competitor to the Ola S1 Air whose sale will start soon.
Government also revised the guidelines of the FAME II subsidy decreasing the total incentive cap which might increase the price of the electric vehicles. Ola already announced the price hike for it’s electric scooters, Aether as well increased the price of their Ather 450X electric scooter. As per the latest FAME II policy, customers will be getting Rs. 10,000 per kWh subsidy with a maximum cap of the 15 per cent of the ex-factory price of the electric scooter.
Ather officially revealed the Ather 450S scooter, it is expected that this is going to be the most affordable electric scooter in the Ather portfolio, this might not get a few expensive features as well.
Ather 450S is expected to come with a 3kWh battery pack with a certified range of 115km per full charge with top speed upto 90kmph. Ex-showroom price of this upcoming scooter is fixed as Rs 1,29,999. This range will be more than sufficient for the daily city commute without any problem. Ather’s main objective behind launching this affordable variant is to make the electric scooters affordable and reach wide audience. Ather also claims that this latest scooter will be offering same performance and riding experience as the other petrol 125cc scooters available in the market.
As already mentioned regarding the changes in the FAME II subsidy policy by the government, the latest price of the Ather 450X is now Rs 1.48 lakh ex-showroom including the subsidy. This hike is because the subsidy amount is decreased by around Rs 32,000.
As the Ather 450S is going to be an affordable version, features like Bluetooth connectivity, LED lighting, disc brake setup and seven-inch Android touchscreen won’t be seen on it. It is already known that the 450X can be seen in six colour options, we expect the same with the Ather 450S as well.
