Apple officially announced the iOS 17 at their WWDC 2023 on Monday. This latest iOS version is coming with a lot of improvements and major updates to Phone, FaceTime, and iMessage. We will also be seeing a lot of enhancements AirDrop, it will now allow the iPhone users to share contact details by simply brining the iPhones together. Other updates include stickers, offline maps, siri prompts and a new Journal app. Journal application will help the users to log the daily experiences.

What is new in iOS 17?
- With the latest version, users will be able to send audio/video messages with your contacts on facetime.
- iMessage app will be getting a new search option, go the recent messages with catch-up icon. The latest addition Check-In which will send a notification to your contact if you have reached home or if your phone is running out of charge.
- iPhone users can now set a poster or a photo for a contact which will appear while receiving the call from that contact. It will now also have a live-transcription feature incase if you can’t answer the call.
- With iOS 17, users will be able to add any emoji or photo to the sticker, live photos can also be changed to animated stickers and can be used while chatting on iMessage or any other messaging application.
- With the latest update to the Airdrop, we will get a Namedrop feature which enables the users to share their email, contact, name with a tap by just brining two iPhones together. It will work between iPhone and Apple watch as well.
- Latest keyboard will give inline predictive predictions and auto-corrections at sentence level. Keyboard will learn your usage behaviour.
- iOS 17 is also brining in the new Journal application. This latest app is just to track or log thoughts and activities on a regular basis. It is also capable to create personalised suggestions for writing. You can also schedule the day start or end notification to remind to write your day.
- With the latest version, iPhones will now come with stand-by display support, users can see the display from a distance when iPhone is on charge. It can be customised with a range of clocks, photos, widgets or smart stacks which will bring the right widgets at the time. It will also come with Live Activities, Siri support, Incoming calls and many more.
- Siri can now be turned on by just saying “Siri” instead of “Hey Siri”
Apart from the above mentioned features, iOS 17 is also brining offline maps, feature for mental health, secure and easier password sharing, much more private browsing on Safari, collaborating playlists on Apple Music and more.
