Google is hosting the Google IO 2023 on May 10 this year. It is expected that the brand will be revealing its first foldable smartphone called Pixel Fold. A few details of this smartphone are leaked before the official launch.
As per the latest news, Google Pixel Fold will be unveiled in the at the Google IO 2023, however the official launch will happen in the month of June. It is expected that this will come with a price tag of USD 1700 (which will be approximately Rs.1,40,000). Once launched, this will be a direct competitor to the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 4 (256GB variant) which is available for Rs. 1,54,999 in India.
It is also rumoured that this upcoming smartphone will come powered by Google’s proprietary Tensor G2 which is also powering the latest Google Pixel 7 smartphone lineup. It is also expected that Google will also reveal Google Pixel 4a along with the Pixel Fold in the event.
While the Pixel Fold entering the segment it is going to be a very tough fight for Samsung Galaxy Z Fold. Samsung is already working to provide the best user experience and interface and Google being the leader in the Android OS, it may offer a clear interface, exclusive features and better optimise the in-house applications like Gmail, YouTube, Calendar to name a few.
We are yet to receive official news regarding the launch of Google Pixel Fold in India as their flagship Google Pixel 7 series is currently selling in the country.
